Your Hosts

We are Amanda and Phil, your hosts at The Old Milking Parlour. Together with our family we live here, high up on the Mendip hills on a small former farm which has been passed down through three generations. This part of Somerset is located within an area of natural beauty, and we would love to share it with you.

Our Journey

Creating our barn conversation from the former farms milking parlour started back in 2004, we had the great idea to offer affordable luxury ensuite holiday accommodation to visitors from across the world and within the United kingdom.

To cut a long story short, after a significant amount of planning and paperwork but far less budget, construction finally started onsite in spring 2007. We finally opened in the summer of 2008, since then we have welcomed hundreds of guests since then. When you choose you to stay here expect a great getaway location with modern facilities, comfy beds, inclusive Wi-Fi, pasture views from the outside terrace looking out over our farmland , we are accredited for families’ welcome, walkers welcome and cyclists welcome, from Visit England.

We must have done something right, as we have also received a Gold Awards from Visit England for our high standards.
